Aircraft Recovery in the Netherlands

These pages are dedicated to aircraft recovery in the Netherlands. There are still some hundreds of wrecks in the bottom of the Netherlands. Several hundreds have been recovered since WW2.

The Recovery Service of the Royal Netherlands Air Force was founded in 1953 at Gilze-Rijen Airbase. Before 1960 wrecks were recovered by different services of Army, Navy, Air Force and Ministry of Transport.

In the 1980's the Recovery Service moved to Woensdrecht Airbase.
Today there are also some Private Recovery Societies in the Netherlands busy with aircraft recovery.
