New on this site
April 2008
Since we got much SPAM within our post, we changed our email-address and our contact details.
We are very busy in integrating a webtraffic analyzer into our website and at the same time we are changing the site-navigation for most of the pages.
In the meantime we are adding extra pages and are working on a SPECIAL WIKI(pedia) like encyclopedia on AIR WAR in the ETO. And LAST BUT NOT LEAST: we are looking for some extra moderators for this online encyclopedia!.
Summer 2007
Since spring 2007 we have added more links to our air war links-page. We added more information about units of the 8th Air Force and are busy filling the other pages with information.
In july we started working on a more logical navigation through the pages. These are minor changes, but asked a lot of work as we had to work through all 545 pages.
Spring 2006
In spring 2006, I started to rebuild our website.
I started with this website in 1997, but the information increased more and more since the early beginnings. So I decided to rebuild the site and found new webhosting for it.
The result is the airwarweb.net. I started with 450 pages. Having material for about 1,100 pages I was aware of the fact that there was still a lot of work to do.
I hoped that I could combine working on the website with my regular job as journalist, but sometimes these things work out completely different.
Our company celebrated its 100 year of existance, so I was asked to work on three historical publications about the company. That took a lot of time in research and writing. So there was no time left anymore to work on this website.
But since January 2007 I could work on this website again. So I started to add some pages on the chronological history of the USAAF 8th and the 9th Air Force in Europe.
Next job is to fill the pages of the units of the 8th Air Force.
At January 10th 2007 this website counts 545 pages.
