North American B25 Mitchell
of Jackson Flying School

After the students attended the primary, basic and advanced courses there was the need to prepare them for operational service. So the Dutch decided to set up a course for operational training. They asked for suitable planes from the USAAF. For this purpose they received B25 Mitchell Medium Bombers. This was the same type the Dutch East Indies no.18 Squadron was using in Australia. The operational courses were flown from Jackson Army Air Base.
The B25C and B25D models were new from the factory. The B25G models came from various USAAF depots. A total of 30 B25s were received.
