August 1st 1940
On August 1st 1940 Blenheim R3898 of no. 114 Squadron
crashed at Haamstede.
It was shot down by German Flak.
The pilot tried to leave the plane by parachute, but the
plane was already too low. So he got severely wounded.
He was taken to the German Lazarett at Bergen op Zoom,
but died on August 2nd.
