Air War WW2 Portal

My name is Ed Ragas, born in 1949 in the Netherlands.
Since I was 12 years old I'm interested in aviation, starting colleting pictures and books. Later I started spotting aircraft and took thousands of pictures. In 1978 I became interested in Air War history, especially in Air War over the Netherlands. From then on I collected thousands of documents and started digging in air war history.
I was asked to become editor of Bulletin Air War 1939-1945 magazine and did this job for five years.
In 1997 I went online on the Internet and started publishing details about the Air War in the ETO, at first with online.be then with yucom.be and therafter with tiscali.be. Since 2005 we have our own domain www.airwarweb.net with Stone Internet Services in Belgium.

Since my marriage to Nicole we live in Belgium. Now already for more than 30 years. We have one daughter which is studying ICT & Media.
Originally an electronics engineer, in 1974 I became a librarian with the Xerox company in their Documentation Centre in the Netherlands.
Then I was asked to start working in Tilburg as a librarian. In 1980 I changed job again becoming an editor for a Dutch publishing company editing technical books. In 1990 I became a journalist with a newspaper and a broadcasting station in the Netherlands. Still working with pleasure as journalist. It's a busy job and that's why there's not much time left for updating this website. But I can work on this website every week some hours, so the number of pages is still growing as is the number of links on the Links-page.

I'm happy that some members of the Bulletin Group contribute to my website and together we continue to fill all pages. For some subjects we have to do some research in our archives and this will take some time, but finally we hope to fulfill the job which started 10 years ago with just 25 pages. Now (2007) this website counts 560 pages and is still growing.
